About the Author

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Madelyn Lopez is an emerging Latina Gothic writer with an MA in English and a certificate in creative writing. She has been featured in Ink’d Publishing’s Hidden Villains: Betrayed and Noncorporeal II anthologies.

Madelyn has a passion for encouraging the meditative act of writing, finding it crucial to understand the facets of our identity. In searching for deeper meaning, Madelyn has conducted and constructed research on Latinx archival work in relation to the Gothic. This has shaped her craft significantly and is the reason she enjoys sharing her stories through an auto-fiction lens as it gives her the opportunity to interweave gothic and fantasy elements with her lived experiences in her writing. 

When Madelyn is not reading or writing, she likes to bake and hang out with her friends. One day, she dreams of owning a bakery with her sister and writing books on the side.
